Adoni Media’s Month in Review: May 2025

Five mistakes to avoid during a TV interview

As we flip the calendar page to June, there’s that familiar mix of satisfaction and disbelief – we’re already halfway through 2025. But if May taught us anything, it’s that when you’re passionate about your work, time flies for all the right reasons.

Between media training 11 executives, managing six major campaigns, Leisa Goddard’s four Sky News appearances, and travelling more than 4,500 kilometres for video production, our May calendar got a serious workout. Yet we wouldn’t have it any other way. Our efforts secured more than 50 stories, reaching more than 200,000 people with features appearing on Seven News, WIN News, Urban.com, and numerous other outlets.

This month, we supported campaigns across a wide spectrum: from child development initiatives and National Volunteer Week to major property launches and one of the nation’s largest industry fundraisers. Before June’s chaos starts, let’s take a moment to reflect on Adoni’s May highlights.

    Client Highlights

    Leadsun

Our partnership with Leadsun perfectly demonstrates the power of strategic PR. This month’s campaign focused on Murrumbidgee Council’s commitment to supporting councils through innovative lighting solutions.

While geographical isolation might challenge some agencies, our team saw it as the perfect opportunity for a Video News Release. Our Group Client Manager, Jane Henschke, and Videographer Paul Simpson journeyed to rural NSW to capture insights from Leadsun’s Business Development Manager, Gordon Mazione, key business stakeholders, and Murrumbidgee Mayor, Councillor Ruth McRae.

The resulting VNR resonated strongly with industry publications, generating 11 stories across major outlets. It’s proof that with the right approach and genuine commitment, distance becomes irrelevant.

    Play Matters

May brought one of our biggest campaigns of the year as national not-for-profit Play Matters hosted its annual ‘Messy Play’ events across four cities. The events attracted thousands of excited children and parents, who came together, all in the name of child development

Our Sunshine Coast VNR captured this magic perfectly, featuring insights from Play Matters’ CEO Penny Creamer and Regional Manager Michelle Poole, and the Queensland Family and Child Commission’s Christopher Smith.

All in all, the campaign performed exceptionally well, securing national coverage from WIN News, as well as ABC, Seven News, and several magazine publications. We secured more than 20 stories with an audience reach of more than180,000 listeners, equating to more than $30,000 in value.

    MAS Architecture

Our ongoing partnership with MAS Architecture continues showcasing exceptional Australian design. This month, we shone a spotlight on ‘Sunset Caloundra,’ a collaboration between MAS Architecture and Dusk Group that captures coastal character.

With curved balconies, earthy textures, and a picturesque swimming pool, it’s no wonder this project captivated media attention. ‘Sunset Caloundra’ appeared in multiple industry-leading publications including Urban.com.au.

    Media Training

May was a standout month for Media Training as we worked alongside 11 executives and industry leaders- all while we navigated a busy PR calendar.

From transport and food, to mining and finance, each client brought their own unique background and experience. By the end of their sessions, they all left with something in common: the confidence and clarity to communicate their message effectively.

We’re proud to have supported such a diverse group and are looking forward to helping even more clients prepare for media opportunities in the month ahead.

    Video News Release

As part of our clients’ campaigns, VNRs were very crucial in helping to overcome the challenges of distance to ensure stories were seen and heard, no matter the location.

With more than 4,500km travelled and countless hours spent in production, our team worked hard to deliver broadcast-ready content to journalists and newsrooms across the country.

When newsrooms are stretched or breaking news shifts focus, Adoni Media steps in with high-quality, ready-to-air content – so our clients can still receive the coverage their stories deserve.

    Looking ahead

As we approach the end of the financial year, we’re being approached by organisations across the country to lock in Media Training. With calendars filling rapidly, now is the perfect time to secure your team’s Media Training experience. Leisa Goddard and our expert trainers have spent more than a decade strengthening the communication skills of executives, politicians, sports personalities, industry leaders and spokespeople across a range of industries. We’ll work around your schedule, and sessions can be scheduled for later in the year.
