Leading charity Mission Australia sought media coverage for the release of its Queensland research into youth homelessness. It also aimed to secure stories surrounding the launch of several new programs, across Brisbane, Ipswich, and Cairns.


Across several months, Adoni Media adopted and delivered a local media strategy to educate residents across Queensland about Mission Australia’s research and raise awareness of new programs launching in metropolitan and regional locations across the State.

The state-wide Youth Survey results were localised to four different regions across Queensland, with media releases distributed and spokespeople in each area prepared for interview. This resulted in coverage across Cairns, Toowoomba, and the Gold Coast, with stories appearing in WIN News, 7 News, the Cairns Post, News Mail, and the Toowoomba Chronicle.

Media alerts, personalised pitches, localised media releases and filming of grabs helped to achieve coverage for the launch of several programs across Brisbane, Cairns, and Ipswich. The programs included homelessness services for older women in Brisbane, promoting children’s voices in Ipswich, and encouraging Cairns residents to have their say on improving accessibility for those living with disability.

Stories appeared in media across Queensland, including in 7 News, WIN News, the Courier Mail, and the Cairns Post. Long form radio interviews were also secured across major radio stations, including ABC, 4BC, Triple M, River 94.9, and community stations 4EB and BIMA Radio.
