National award for Your Health Your Choice campaign

Adoni Media’s Your Health Your Choice campaign has received a National Award as Australia’s largest campaign to protect natural therapies.
The campaign, launched on July 18 2017, united consumers, practitioners and supporters of natural medicines like never before with more than 53,000 sign ups in the first three months.
The campaign
Australian journalist and founder of Adoni Media, Leisa Goddard and her team, created the campaign on behalf of their client, the Australian Homeopathic Association.
Ms Goddard said the goal of Your Health Your Choice was to give the community and all 17 modalities from Yoga to naturopathy a united voice both politically and in the media.
“Within weeks Your Health Your Choice was on the political radar in Canberra with the Federal Health Department listing the campaign on its current issues list,” Ms Goddard said.
Largest campaign protecting natural therapies
Your Health Your Choice called on the two in three Australians who use complementary medicines and/or natural therapies to sign a Senate Petition to expose why the Government was ignoring positive evidence that natural medicines are effective.
More than 32,000 people signed after the Federal Government announced it was cutting the private health insurance rebate for natural therapies.
Your Health Your Choice spokeswoman Petrina Reichman told the 400 strong crowd at the CMA’s annual awards night that Adoni Media had been the driving force behind the campaign.
“We would not have been able to do it without you,” she said.
Adoni Media’s digital team had grown the campaign online with individual social media posts reaching more than half a million people.
Campaign success
By May 2018, people power had a win with the then Federal Health Minister, Greg Hunt, deciding to protect popular natural treatments used to manage hay fever, stress, insomnia, joint aches, teething, and other medical conditions.
Proposed legislative reform to stop the use of traditional medicine claims was stopped.
