From our interns: Em’s experience

Being in my third year at QUT studying for a Mass Communications degree, I was eager to finally gain some experience and get insight into the world of PR. I am beyond thankful to have had my first internship experience at Adoni.

Not only is Adoni an award-winning and well-renowned firm, but the team were so welcoming and friendly, and I always felt comfortable in asking any questions or getting feedback on my work.

Unlike the movies, you won’t be asked to fetch everyone a coffee or shred kilograms of office paperwork. On the contrary, I felt like I was a part of the team and that my input was always appreciated.

    The work

Being my first internship, I wasn’t confident in my ability to produce quality and relevant content. The team, particularly Olivia (thanks Liv!), were patient and willing to give me honest feedback. I quickly became more confident in creating media releases, blog articles, media lists, social media content, graphic design, client research and more.

Each and every day offered new and unique challenges with a range of different clients, so you’re always kept on your toes!

    My advice to PR students

If you are apprehensive about undertaking an internship, just remember that we all have to start somewhere. Not confident in your writing or design skills? An internship is the perfect opportunity to build both your confidence and skills, and also broaden your network for future career prospects.

I’d like to sincerely thank the team at Adoni for giving me this invaluable opportunity to grow professionally – I will be recommending Adoni to anyone I can!
