Adoni Media 2020 Highlights

Well, 2020 has been an eventful year… to say the least! From business launches to new team members and working from home, this year has been filled with ups and downs.

As we roll into the new year, it’s time to reflect on the year that has been. This year has been tough for many Australians, and we are so grateful to have supported so many local businesses during this time.

A huge thank you to everyone with who we have worked with this year.

Here are some of our key moments of 2020.

    WFH becomes the new norm

As Queensland went into lockdown back in March, our team adjusted to working from home. Although it took a few technical difficulties to get into the swing of things, our productivity didn’t falter. We were able to successfully continue to help businesses with their crisis communication plans in preparation for when restrictions lifted.

We were also able to continue media training both in-person (socially distanced of course) and virtually, which was a first for us. A few sessions were a hybrid of both as participants joined in from around Queensland.

We even helped QODE Brisbane host a virtual tech event that streamed worldwide – welcome to the ‘new norm’ for big events and expos!

    Jane Henschke joins the team

We welcomed our newest team member, Jane Henschke into our PR world. Jane has extensive media experience, having previously worked as Network Ten’s News Manager in Queensland, a political correspondent in the Canberra Press Gallery and a Media Advisor to numerous Federal ministers – just to name a few! We feel so lucky to have Jane on our team and look forward to what’s to come in the new year.

    Leisa continues on Sky News

Our powerhouse Managing Director, Leisa Goddard, has continued to make regular appearances as a commentator and media strategist on Sky. Last year, Leisa joined Sky News’ The Front Page program as a panellist, commenting on the news of the day. This is a role she continued weekly in 2020, while also featuring on Gary Hardgrave’s Friday night program. Leisa also joined Sky news’ QLD Election 2020 coverage, interviewing the likes of Wayne Swan and Henry Palaszczuk.

Leisa and the team also celebrated eight years of Adoni Media – an incredible achievement!

    Continuing our work with charities

Our team enjoys working with and supporting Australian charities. We have worked with a number of charities over the years and were delighted to work with The Salvos again this year to launch the 2020 Red Shield Appeal as well as the Christmas Appeal. We also worked to gain media coverage for a number of initiatives from Mission Australia, including the results of its annual Youth Survey.

    Launching and supporting Australian businesses

COVID-19 has strongly impacted many Australian businesses this year – that’s why we are incredibly proud to have supported a range of Aussie clients launch in 2020. Some of the new clients we worked with to launch and/or build media momentum, included:

Cheese Therapy – Australia’s only cheese hamper business. The family-owned business grew 3600 per cent this year after coming to the rescue of artisan cheesemakers impacted by the bushfires and COVID-19.

Ellenny Swim – A sustainable, supportive, sun-safe and stylish swimwear brand that embraces body positivity and supports a whole chain of Australian businesses.

Australian Road Safety Foundation – The ARSF launched a national online road safety program called ‘RoadSet’, aimed at Year 9 students to help to fill the gap in road safety learning.

Kynd – Australia’s first one-for-one vitamin and supplements brand. Every time you buy a Kynd product, an immunity sachet is donated to an Australian in need.

PWA Mobility – A Queensland start-up that invented a ‘care station capsule’ that helps parents in wheelchairs bond with their babies by making it easier for them to change nappies, feed and cuddle their newborns.

Leadsun – An Australian business that invented the world’s first all-in-one public solar lighting system. Following a global search that lasted years, Leadsun was selected to light the world’s first “Smart city” in Florida.

Majestri – a tech-based business helping sporting and community clubs manage volunteers, teams, finances and communication. It assists clubs with retaining their volunteers by making the administrative side of running a club easier.

    Creating more videos

We delved into video production, even more, this year, working with our clients to produce both Video News Releases and long-form videos. We produced and filmed stylised videos for RSL Art Union’s prize homes, and produced a video for national transport and logistics insurer NTI about the upcoming La Nina season featuring weather presenter Mike Larkan. We continued our work with QPAC, producing VNRs and social media videos to promote their fantastic line-up of shows, and created further video content and VNRs for Cirque du Soleil, Cheese Therapy, Leadsun, NTI, Senex and others.

From our team at Adoni Media, we wish you all a very Happy New Year! If you would like to get in touch, please reach out via the contact us page.
